|Alan Simmons, New Zealand Fly Fishing Guide. Summer Wilderness Campouts And Winter Steelhead Fishing On The Tongariro River.|
Established in 1979 and still guiding year after year. "Experience is my greatest asset"
Why Fly Fish In New Zealand
Because of the quality of the angling.
New Zealand is lucky to still have clean unpolluted rivers and lakes supporting quality populations of Brown and Rainbow Trout. It stands to reason that a country the size of Great Britain and with a population of only three million should still retain the golden opportunities which have long disappeared in many parts of the world.
My business is about guiding flyfishing trips for 1 to 10 anglers all over New Zealand although the majority of fishing is undertaken around the central North Island.
Fishing All Year Around
In the summer I specialise in dry fly fishing from lowland rivers, semi wilderness rivers or helicopter wilderness river campouts.
The winter is Steelhead trout time with huge runs of silver steelheads running right past our door and I have a lot of experience at catching Steelhead trout!
A new modern self contained 2 bedroom accommodation unit right on the banks of the Tongario River, Lake Taupo. Bring your family or your friends. Our guided fly fishing trips are normally fully hosted but you can elect to use our accommodation (Riversrun) and do your own meals etc.
"Dedicated fishermen and hunters are also dedicated conservationists. By conserving today,
we fish and hunt tomorrow." Alan Simmons. Book dedication, 1987.
